Rebecca and Sophie are a newly formed Duo who made their first appearance together performing the Mozart flute and harp Concerto at the Mill on The Fleet in Gatehouse Summer 2025.Both players hold a Masters Degree in performance, followed by extensive careers in the music Industry. Sophie performs with orchestras and chamber ensembles across Scotland and also as a recitalist. She has appeared as a guest recitalist and teacher at the Edinburgh Harp Festival, performed at numerous Music Societies and also made an appearance at the UK’s Harp Association ‘ London Branch.

In May of last year Sophie had the privilege and joy to perform the European premiA?re of Jennifer Higdon’s wonderful Grammy award winning harp concerto – accompanied by the Stirling orchestra. Sophie is also a member of the band ‘New Leaf’, appearing on their most recent album ‘The Year of the Ox’. Sophie brings a new dynamic element to the duo with mesmerizing accuracy to her performance.Rebecca has appeared as Principal Flute, Sub Principal Flute and Principal Piccolo with many of the UK’s leading orchestras including, including the BBC Symphony, Bournemouth Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony, English National Ballet amongst others.

Post lockdown Rebecca decided to change direction and took up the position as woodwind instructor for the D&G Music Service. Since moving to Kirkcudbright, Rebecca has established several flourishing chamber music groups whilst maintaining her teaching, solo and artistic endeavours.Rebecca and Sophie bonded instantly as friends and musicians. Both being highly sensitive and virtuosic players, combining their creative enthusiasm and flare, this stunning duo guarantee a breathtaking performance that you won’t forget.
