Summary of Kirkcudbright Fringe Festival (KFF) CIC’s Equal Opportunity Policy

Kirkcudbright Fringe Festival (KFF) CIC will ensure that Directors, Advisory Group members, unpaid and paid staff, artists and performers, external contractors (including caterers, technicians), audiences (actual and virtual) are treated equally regardless of age, disability, ethnic or national origin, gender, marital or parental status, race, religion, sexual orientation or their socio-economic situation. Directors, Advisory Group members, unpaid and paid staff, and artists and performers with whom the CIC contracts all have a responsibility to adhere to this policy.

Implementing, monitoring and reviewing KFF CIC’s Equal Opportunity Policy

KFF CIC’s equal opportunities policy will be implemented across its work in:

KFF CIC will take account of existing legislation relating to equal opportunities, and ensure that this policy is implemented, monitored and reviewed on an annual basis. Directors will deal fairly and timeously with any complaints or allegations of discrimination and commit to responding to any such complaint within a week of receipt.

Appointing Directors and Advisory Group members

KFF CIC aims for its organisation to be as diverse as possible, including its Directors and Advisory Group. We acknowledge that this is something that will take time, and the CIC Directors will consider options to broaden representation as the Fringe matures.

Appointing staff – unpaid, paid, external contractors etc

KFF CIC will ensure that no unpaid or paid staff member receives less favourable treatment than another because of age, disability, ethnic origin, marital or parental status, religion, race, gender, sexual orientation or their socio-economic situation.

Programming KFF CIC activities and events

 

KFF CIC wants to present a rich and diverse programme, to reflect the broadest sweep of creativity and imagination. To achieve this we will:
